Small Business Payroll & HR

Thinking about a PEO? Talk to us before you sign.

A 20-minute call with a payroll and HR team that has 20+ years in payroll. We'll walk through what a PEO gives you, what it doesn't, and what the alternatives look like for a business your size. No pitch, just a straight answer.

If a PEO is the right fit for you, I'll say so. If it isn't, I'll tell you that too.

A PEO is a real option. It's also a bigger decision than it looks.

A PEO (professional employer organization) becomes the co-employer of your staff. It runs payroll, bundles HR, and pools your people into its own plans. For some businesses that's exactly right. For others, the bundle costs more than the pieces, and the fine print on renewals and exits only shows up later.

We help you compare. Side by side: a PEO versus payroll and HR run for you without a co-employer. Same 20 minutes either way, and you walk away knowing which one fits.

Four questions to ask before you sign a PEO agreement

What's bundled, and what's billed on top?

Admin fees, per-employee charges, and pass-through costs add up differently than a flat payroll fee. Get the all-in number for your headcount.

What happens at renewal?

Rates are usually set for a year. Ask how they've moved for similar businesses at year two and three.

How do you leave, and what comes with you?

Your people are on the PEO's tax accounts and plans. Know the notice period and what has to be rebuilt on the way out.

Who do you actually talk to?

A named person who knows your setup, or a ticket queue? That matters most in the weeks something goes wrong.

How it works

20-minute call

Your headcount, your states, what you need from HR, and any PEO quote you already have. Straight answers.
